Burglary: Oct. 14, Between 8:15 a.m. and 7:10 p.m., 300 Block of Second Avenue

An unknown suspect(s) pried open the front door of a residence and took cash and jewelry before fleeing.

Burglary: Oct. 13, Between 4 p.m. and 11 a.m., 400 Block of Ninth Avenue

An unknown person(s) entered a church and gained entry to its choir loft to steal a Yamaha soundboard.

There were no signs of forced entry.

Possession of Narcotics, Parole Violation: Oct. 12, 7:20 a.m., Golden Gate Park

A report came in to dispatch concerning a man with a knife in Golden Gate Park near Transverse and Overlook drives.

When officers arrived at the scene, they noticed a man who matched the description of the suspect riding a bicycle. They also knew he was on parole.

When the officers attempted to stop the 39-year-old suspect, he took off downhill on a path toward some trees. At the bottom of the grade, the suspect crashed his bike and took off running, with the officers in hot pursuit.

At JFK Drive, the officers apprehended the suspect and discovered suspected drugs in his possession.

The suspect was booked.

Possession of Narcotics, Parole Violation: Oct. 12, 9:55 a.m., Mayfair Drive and Manzanita Avenue

Police officers responded to a report of a male looking into parked cars. When they located him, the 41-year-old suspect gave a false name and birth date information. A computer search revealed the suspect had gotten out of state prison on Oct. 8.

A subsequent search turned up suspected narcotics. He was arrested on drug and parole violation charges.

Possession of Stolen Vehicle, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol: Oct. 12, 11:45 a.m., Park Presidio and Lake Street

A witness reported a reckless driver, driving on the wrong side of the road at Ninth Avenue and Lake Street, and provided a description of the vehicle and its license plate number.

Officers located and stopped the vehicle on Park Presidio Boulevard. The driver, a 47-year-old woman, was evidently drunk.

An investigation revealed the owner of the vehicle had parked and gone to a hospital to see his mother. He left the suspect in the car to wait and left the keys to the vehicle so she could listen to the radio.

When he returned and saw the vehicle missing, he called police and reported it stolen because he knew the woman had been drinking.

The suspect was arrested.

Robbery: Oct. 7, 5:32 p.m., 3800 Block of Geary Boulevard

An 84-year-old woman was walking to her vehicle when she noticed two men sitting on some steps.

As she went to open the door, the men ran over and knocked her to the ground. One of the men used a knife to cut the strap on the purse so he could grab it from the victim.

The suspects, both between 20 and 25 years of age, fled in a green four-door sedan.

Assault: Oct. 4, 1 a.m., Seventh Avenue and Geary Boulevard

Two males and a female left a restaurant and were walking when they discovered they were being followed by three women who had been in the restaurant.

One of the suspects approached the female victim and said the victim had been "staring at them." The victim denied the accusation, but two of the female suspects started punching her anyway. One of the male victims pushed one of the punching suspects into the other one and they both fell to the ground.

The three suspects then started to retreat, but the female victim took one of her high-heeled shoes and counter-attacked.

The suspects were able to escape without further injury.

Burglary: Oct. 3, 3 a.m., 1000 Block of the Great Highway

A man left a party and got into a fight with an unknown suspect.

When the battle was over, the victim's backpack and a Nordstrom's suit were missing.

Possession of Narcotics: Oct. 3, 2 p.m., Golden Gate Park

Officers on patrol during a music festival witnessed a drug transaction between two individuals. They stopped the suspect who was selling the drugs and found him to be in possession of a variety of controlled substances.

The 33-year-old suspect was arrested and booked.
