Graffiti Vandalism: June 24, 12:45 a.m., 4400 Block of Cabrillo Street

A report came in to dispatch concerning two men who were scrawling graffiti on the side of a business, with a third suspect keeping guard.

Officers arrived and were directed to the east side of the street, where they found one of the suspects hiding in a car. The other two had fled the scene.

The 17-year-old suspect, who was identified by a witness, was charged with vandalism and being in possession of an aerosol container. He was released to the custody of his parent.

Graffiti Vandalism: June 23, 6:30 p.m., 33rd Avenue and Geary Boulevard

A report came into dispatch concerning a group of males who were "tagging" a Muni bus. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a group of seven males who were walking nearby on Anza Street. The males matched descriptions of the suspects given to the officers.

When the officers asked the group to stop, five complied and dropped their spray paint cans on the sidewalk. Two fled but were quickly captured by other officers before getting more than a block away.

The Muni driver identified the suspects. The two suspects who ran, a 17-year-old youth and an 18-year-old man, were arrested.

Burglary: Between June 20, at 3 p.m., and June 21, at 8:30 a.m., 300 Block of Sixth Avenue

A suspect entered a business by prying open the front door. Once inside, he took an undetermined amount of money that was left in the cash register.

The investigation is ongoing.

Burglary, Illegal Marijuana Grow: June 19, 4 a.m., 2600 Block of Cabrillo Street

An alert neighbor saw a suspected burglar climbing up a ladder that had been put up against a neighbor's house. A second suspect was on the ground holding a flashlight and a third suspect was sitting in a get-away van in the driveway.

When the first officers arrived on the scene, the driver of the van started the engine of the vehicle and fled northbound on 28th Avenue. The suspect was caught several blocks away.

Officers at the scene then conducted a "walk through" of the premises for additional suspects and victims. Inside, they discovered that the house had been converted into an illegal marijuana growing operation. It appeared that no one was living at the premises, which contained about 500 marijuana plants.

The investigation, and search for the two suspects that got away, is continuing.

Assault and Battery: June 19, 3:40 p.m., 4500 Block of Cabrillo Street

A verbal fight between two roommates escalated into a physical alteration, whereby one of the parties bit off the chin of the other combatant.

The victim, who did not cooperate with police officers, was transported to a hospital for treatment. A portion of his chin was recovered at the scene and taken to the hospital in case it was of use to attending surgeons.

Officers located the suspect who did the biting at 48th Avenue and Cabrillo Street and arrested him.

Burglary: June 19, Between 3 - 5:45 p.m., 400 Block of 19th Avenue

An unknown suspect gained entry into a residence via an unlocked sliding glass door and took jewelry, cash and a passport before fleeing.

Burglary: June 18, Between 12:30 - 1:30 p.m., Unit Block of Cook Street

An unknown suspect gained entry into a residence by throwing a rock through a glass panel on the front door.

The suspect took a laptop computer, jewelry and a wallet before fleeing.

Robbery: June 18, 7:45 p.m., 48th Avenue and Geary Boulevard

A group of youths were on a Muni bus headed westbound toward the Cliff House Restaurant when one of them heard someone say: "They are going to take your iPhone."

Three youths got off the bus to avoid the suspects but the suspects got off the bus and followed them.

One of the suspects punched one of the victims and grabbed his necklace from around his neck. Another suspect grabbed an iPod from a second victim.

The suspects, who got away, fled toward the Great Highway. They were described as males in their mid to late teens, one with gold teeth and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, and another one who was also wearing a hooded sweatshirt and had a stud earring in his left ear.

Armed Robbery: May 25, 7:56 p.m., Golden Gate Avenue and Chabot Terrace

The victim was walking toward a friend's vehicle when two suspects approached and surrounded him.

One of the suspects demanded the victim's cell phone. When the victim hesitated, the other suspect pointed a handgun at him.

During the altercation, the victim's friend walked up and said, "What are you doing?"

The suspect pointed the gun at the friend as well.

The suspects took the victim's cell phone, wallet and laptop computer before fleeing in a waiting blue SUV. The suspects are described as males, in their late teens, wearing dark clothing.

Armed Robbery: May 24, 11:15 p.m., Fulton Street

A man was walking on Fulton Street when an unknown suspect strode up and demanded his personal property. The victim ran away, but soon realized that he had been shot in the arm.

The victim phoned a friend, who showed up in a taxi, to take him to the hospital.

Robbery: May 24, 10:05 a.m., 1000 Block of Clement Street

A woman was sitting in a cafe eating lunch, with her iPhone on the table, when a male suspect grabbed the phone and started running.

The woman, and a witness, gave chase but were unable to catch the thief.

When the woman returned to the cafe, she discovered that the purse she left behind was missing.

The man who grabbed the phone was described as being between 20 and 25 years of age. The accomplice who grabbed the purse was described as a woman wearing a pink top and blue jeans.
