Operation Safe Corridor: Oct. 9, Geary Boulevard
After taking a summer break, police officers conducted an operation to slow down vehicles posing a treat to pedestrians.

They cited 143 drivers for not yielding the right of way to pedestrians crossing Geary Boulevard. As well, they caught 10 drivers who were driving illegally without a license or with a suspended license, cited two drivers for driving without a seatbelt, and nabbed one driver for speeding.

Possession of Controlled Substance, Stolen Vehicle: Oct. 7, 3:36 a.m., Clement Street and Park Presidio Boulevard
Officers on patrol noticed a vehicle with the right passenger side window smashed out. They ran a computer check and discovered that the vehicle was reported stolen.

They pulled over and arrested a 29-year-old female, who also had suspected drugs in her possession.

Arrest for Outstanding Warrants: Oct. 7, 3:18 a.m., Anza Street and Seventh Avenue
A police officer patrolling the Inner Richmond recognized a man standing on the corner from previous encounters.

When the officer ran a computer check, it was determined that the suspect had outstanding warrants for stealing autos, being in possession of stolen property and for various narcotics violations.

The suspect was transported to Richmond Station and booked.

Bank Robbery: Oct. 7, 12:20 p.m., 400 Block of Clement Street
A man walked into a bank and handed a teller a note demanding money. The teller complied with the suspect's wishes and handed over an undetermined sum of cash.

The suspect fled the bank in an unknown direction.

Impersonating City Employees: Oct. 8, 10:25 a.m., Unit Block of Balboa Street
An elderly woman who was in front of her home was approached by two men who said they were employees with the city's water department and that they needed to check her water.

The woman allowed the men into her apartment to perform the check. One of the suspects asked the woman to turn the water on in the bathroom. After turning the water on, the woman was walking back toward the kitchen when she noticed one of the suspects in her bedroom.

The suspects fled the premises, but not before breaking a lock on the victim's dresser and taking an undisclosed number of items.

Possession of Stolen Property and Burglary Tools, Narcotics and Parole Violations: Oct. 13, Golden Gate Park
Plainclothes officers were notified that a vehicle had just been stolen near the area of Tea Garden Drive and Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in Golden Gate Park. A witness provided a description of the vehicle and its license plate number.

The officers were cruising westbound on John F. Kennedy Drive in the park when they discovered the 33-year-old suspect trying to remove a bicycle from the trunk of the stolen vehicle.

A search of the suspect revealed numerous items that were owned by the owner of the vehicle. A backpack in the suspect's possession contained suspected narcotics.

The suspect, who was on parole at the time of the arrest, was transported to the police station and booked.

Possession of Deadly Weapon, Parole Violation: Oct. 14, 4:50 p.m., Sacramento and Cherry Streets
A man was sitting in a bulldozer when officers noticed him. He had a knife in his hand, with a five inch blade exposed.

A records check determined the man was on parole. According to the suspect's parole agent, the suspect had walked away from a drug treatment facility.

He was taken into custody and booked.

Burglary: Oct. 13, Between 6:50 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., 100 Block of Cornwall Street
An unknown suspect entered a garage and absconded bicycles, golf clubs and ski equipment. Because there was no sign of forced entry, the suspect may have entered a door left open by workers at the site.

Robbery: Oct. 14, 10 p.m., California Street and 12th Avenue
A woman was waiting for a bus when she suddenly felt her purse being grabbed off her shoulder. The suspect fled southbound on 12th Avenue after taking the purse.

Bank Robbery: Oct. 17, 3:30 p.m., Geary Boulevard and 19th Avenue
A 45-year-old male entered a bank and handed a teller a note demanding money. The teller complied.

When leaving the bank, the suspect was arrested by officers responding to a call for assistance. The suspect was charged with robbery and burglary charges.

Public Intoxication: Oct. 22, 11 p.m., 400 Block of Sixth Avenue
A taxicab driver pulled up to the Richmond Station and reported that a 23-year-old woman was passed out in the back seat. She was reportedly drunk.

The officers were unable to wake up the woman, so an ambulance was summoned. Paramedics revived the woman but she became surly and started arguing with the medics and police officers. She also pushed one of the officers trying to help her.

The woman was charged with being under the influence of alcohol.

Attempted Burglary: Oct. 18, 7 a.m., 800 Block of La Playa
A tenant awoke when someone tried to enter the bedroom window. The tenant noticed that a screen had been removed and the suspect had one leg in the home.

When approached, the suspect, who was still holding the screen, asked for a glass of water.

The tenant screamed and the suspect fled toward Fulton Street.

Burglary: Oct. 7, 6 a.m., 700 Block of 36th Avenue
A man walked downstairs to his garage and discovered a male suspect riding off on his bicycle. The garage door was partially open. A search of the area was to no avail.
