Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property and Narcotics: Nov. 22, 14th Avenue
and Geary Boulevard
A beat patrol officer called in an auto burglary that had just occurred. Inside
the vehicle were a business owner's keys to at least two locations of his business.
An investigation determined that the suspect was an ex-employee.
Officers went to the employee's home and confronted the suspect, who admitted that he took the keys and entered another business location to steal money.
The suspect, who was also in possession of suspected narcotics, was transported to Richmond Station and booked.
Robbery, Assault: Nov. 21, 9:20 p.m., JFK Drive and Sixth Avenue
A 16-year-old male was walking in Golden Gate Park when four youths attacked
him from behind. One suspect pushed the victim to the ground and grabbed his
backpack.
After the attack, the suspects started to flee, but the victim followed them, leading one of the suspects to punch the victim several times before resuming his flight from the scene.
Armed Robbery: Nov. 25, 10:15 p.m., Great Highway and Point Lobos Avenue
A group of juveniles was hanging out near Lands End when they were approached
by another group of men, one of which had a gun.
The suspects ordered the juveniles to empty their pockets and to put their belongings on the ground. The suspects grabbed the items and fled southbound toward Anza Street.
A search of the area was to no avail.
Robbery: Nov. 16, 1:05 a.m., California Street and Presidio Avenue
A woman was walking on California Street when a single male suspect approached
from behind and grabbed her purse.
There was a struggle for the bag, with the victim losing her balance and falling to the ground. When the woman fell, the suspect was able to get the purse and run off.
When the victim screamed for help, several people witnessed what was going on and ran over to help the woman. With descriptions of the suspect provided by the victim and witnesses, police officers were able to locate the 22-year-old suspect in the 400 block of Spruce Street. He was taken into custody and booked.
Possession of Illegal Weapon, Violation of Probation: Nov. 18, 10:45 p.m.,
Fulton Street and La Playa
Officers on patrol noticed a man drive through a stop sign without stopping.
They conducted a traffic stop and determined he was on probation for robbery.
A probation search revealed the man had a fully-charged stun gun in his possession and a large amount of cash.
The 39-year-old suspect was booked on probation and a weapon possession charge.
Hot Prowl Burglary: Nov. 20, 9:57 a.m., 800 Block of La Playa
"A man entered his apartment, which was being remodeled, and discovered
burn marks on the carpet. When he entered the living room, he saw the suspect
asleep on the floor.
As the victim was calling 911, the suspect awoke and tried to flee. But, officers were on the scene and arrested the 51-year-old suspect as he was exiting the building.
Possession of Narcotics, Outstanding Warrants: Nov. 20, 2 p.m., Fulton
Street and 19th Avenue
A citizen called police to report that several people were in a vehicle
using suspected narcotics.
When officers arrived at the scene, the suspect's vehicle was gone. But a search of the area located the suspects three blocks away.
Officers made contact with the vehicle's occupants and discovered the driver was wanted on outstanding warrants for narcotics violations. A search of the vehicle turned up suspected heroin and several types of pills.
The driver was legally charged for the violations.
Attempted Burglary: Nov. 14, 11:05 a.m., 400 Block of Funston Avenue
A woman was in her apartment when she noticed a man's arm reaching through an
open window.
She shouted at the man, who fled southbound on Fulton Street.
Auto Burglary, Possession of Narcotics and Stolen Property, Parole Violations:
Nov. 10, 700 Block of La Playa
As a result of numerous vehicle thefts in the west end of the Richmond and Sunset
districts, plainclothes officers from the Richmond and Taraval stations conducted
an investigation.
A witness gave a description of the suspects' vehicle, which was discovered on La Playa. There were two men inside.
Officers approached the suspects and discovered suspected stolen property inside the vehicle that had been taken from an SUV earlier in the day.
Officers secured two search warrants and conducted a probation search at a third location. They discovered narcotics and other items from earlier heists.
A total of four suspects were arrested in the investigation.
Assault: Nov. 9, 2:20 p.m., Geary Boulevard and 11th Avenue
The victim accidently bumped a patron in a restaurant and a confrontation ensued.
The "bumped" suspect kicked the victim several times before fleeing. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.
