Robbery with Weapon: July 29, 7:50 p.m., Geary Boulevard and 15th Avenue
A cab driver picked up a 24-year-old man wearing a blue and silver jumpsuit and carrying a box at Sixth Avenue and Geary Boulevard. The suspect was breathing hard and was very argumentative with the cab driver, as he demanded to be driven to several locations.

After stopping at a convenience store at 15th Avenue and Geary, the driver told the suspect to pay because he was refusing to continue the trip due to the suspect's behavior. The suspect placed a cold hard object against the driver's neck that the victim believed was a gun.

"I'm going to f___ kill you! I will shoot you!" the suspect said.

He grabbed cash out of the victim's shirt pocket and ran across the street, towards Anza Street. After sitting dazed for a couple of minutes, the victim called police and drove around searching for the suspect. He located him walking out of a residence on the 2500 block of Anza Street.

An officer saw the suspect and pointed his firearm at him while asking the suspect to put his hands in the air.

"I didn't rob nobody man! I didn't rob that cab driver!" the suspect said.

The suspect was handcuffed at gunpoint as the victim drove by and indicated that the suspect was indeed the man who had robbed him.

Once in custody, the suspect admitted having a big methamphetamine habit. The box he was carrying held a laptop computer he had bought with a stolen credit card.

Robbery with Force: Aug. 13, 12:51 p.m., Fourth Avenue and Fulton Street
A 21-year-old woman was walking on Fourth Avenue towards Golden Gate Park when she heard footsteps coming up behind her.

A suspect in his early 20s  wearing a blue windbreaker grabbed the purse off her shoulder and a tug-of-war ensued. During the struggle, the victim was pulled to the ground, spraining two fingers on her right hand. A witness walked over and asked the suspect what he was doing. The suspect replied, "f___ you" before taking the wallet out of the purse and running into Golden Gate Park.

Several units were alerted to the scene but failed to find the suspect.

Arson, Inhabited Dwelling: Aug. 16, 3:22 a.m., 3000 Block of Anza Street
Residents in a rental property heard a loud noise coming from the garage in the middle of the night and discovered a small fire in the garage.

Fire trucks arrived on the scene and extinguished the blaze, which greatly damaged the garage doors. Witnesses reported seeing two males throwing a firebomb at the garage doors.

The victims refused to report statements regarding the incident.

Malicious Mischief, Graffiti, Trespassing: Aug. 10, 3:24 a.m., 2900 Block of Geary Blvd.
A man witnessed two youths spray-painting a building near his residence. He called police and gave officers a description of both suspects, who were dressed in black and appeared to be teenagers.

Officers arrived at the scene and found one suspect standing at the corner of Geary Boulevard and Blake Street. When the suspect saw the police approaching, he blurted out, "I am not doing anything, I am just the lookout. My two buddies are on the roof."

The suspect had paint on his hands and police found spray paint in his backpack.

Officers climbed up a ladder to the roof and saw two suspects hiding in a corner. Officers saw where the suspects had spray-painted and detained both, who each had paint in their backpacks and on their hands. The Fire Department assisted the suspects down from the roof.

A cold show to the witness across the street confirmed that the suspects were the ones he had seen committing graffiti vandalism.

All three suspects were cited and released into the custody of their guardians. One of the suspects, who was 14 years old, was taken home by his grandmother.

Bank Robbery: Aug. 10, 3:30 p.m., 6000 Block of Geary Boulevard
A suspect in his 40s, wearing a brown shirt, walked into a credit union and approached a teller. He greeted the teller and placed a gray book bag on the counter and handed over a note that read, "Give me all your $100s and $50s and place them in the bag."

Fearing for her safety, the teller placed all the bills in the bag, totaling $4,550. The suspect took the note back, placed it in the bag and exited the parking lot door. The suspect did not say anything during the robbery.

Color photos of the suspect taken from surveillance cameras were seized and booked as evidence.

Stolen Property, Possession with Knowledge, Narcotics Paraphernalia: Aug. 10, 1:12 p.m., 400 Block of 24th Avenue
A police officer on duty observed a man exiting a church door carrying what appeared to be a heavy green backpack over his stomach. The officer noticed the man stopping every several paces to pull up his pants and that his hands were shaking. The man walked northbound on 23rd Avenue and the officer decided to follow him.

The officer stopped the suspect and saw a screwdriver in his left pants pocket. The suspect's behavior led the officer to believe that the suspect was not a part of a crew doing working at a nearby church.

The officer handcuffed the suspect on suspicion of theft and sat him on the ground.

After requesting backup and going into the church to ask questions, a woman in the church told the officer that she had seen a strange man poking around in the building.

The officers asked the suspect if the backpack was his and he said he found it on the ground on Lake Street. Officers opened up the backpack and found power and hand tools.

One of the men working at the church identified some of the tools as belonging to him. He told police that he had the tools lying out when he took a lunch break. The victim took a nail gun from the suspect's loot and returned to work.

The officers detained the 34-year-old suspect. A search of the suspect turned up what appeared to be a crack pipe.
