a.m., 3000 Block of Geary Boulevard
A pedestrian was walking across Geary Boulevard when, according to numerous

and then abruptly sped up, swerving across lanes to hit the victim. The
car then sped up and drove away.
The driver of another car followed the hit-and-run vehicle to get its license plate number and then returned to the scene of the accident to give it to police.
Two more officers proceeded to the residence where the vehicle was registered. They spotted the dented car parked down the block but no one answered when the bell was rung. Police were turning to look at the damaged car when the suspect came out from his residence and spontaneously admitted to officers that he had been driving the car and accidentally hit a pedestrian on Geary Boulevard who had "jumped out of nowhere."
The suspect was arrested and booked, and the victim was treated for a broken leg at San Francisco General Hospital.

He was told by the ticket seller via the Internet that the tickets would be sent after he received and cashed the victim's cashier's check. The day after it was sent, the victim received a telephone call from a money lending agency in Tacoma, Washington asking him if the check was good. The victim believes this was when his check was cashed, but three days later, he had still not received the tickets.
"There's been a little bit of a problem. There's been a little delay," the suspected fraudulent ticket seller told the victim through the Internet. Other attempts to contact the suspect have been fruitless.
Police gave the victim follow-up forms and the FBI's website address.
