Botanical Garden Gets Long-term Lease, Fees
Two years ago, the SF Recreation and Park Department (RPD) went hat-in-hand to the SF Board of Supervisors and asked them to approve charging a $7 entrance fee to enter the Botanical Garden in Golden Gate Park from anyone who does not live in San Francisco.

Seventh-grade Girl Excels at Math and Science
Angelica Lee, a seventh grader attending Lawton Alternative School and a resident of the Sunset District, attended a Tech Trek Camp in July, a science and math camp located at Stanford University. This year, 74 girls were elected to attend the camp from various parts of Northern California, 15 of them from San Francisco.

New Community Garden Grows in Outer Sunset
Organizers for a new community garden in the Outer Sunset District held a garden work party on July 21.
