Armed Robbery: Aug. 21, 7 p.m., 48th Avenue and Judah Street
A man was walking when the suspect came up from behind and brandished a gun.
The victim complied with the suspect's demands and turned over his possessions.
Theft: Aug. 20, 2500 Block of 25th Avenue
A volunteer and a teacher both had their purses stolen. In the teacher's case, someone was already using the stolen credit card when she notified the credit card company.
Armed Robbery: Aug. 19, 11:35 p.m., 1500 Block of Irving Street
A woman was walking down the street when two suspects approached and one of the suspects pointed a gun at her.
The victim gave the suspect her purse and the suspects fled.
Auto Burglary, False Personation: Aug. 15, Between 5 and 7 p.m., Great Highway and Sloat Boulevard
A surfer who hid his key at his vehicle returned from the waves to discover someone had used the key to enter the vehicle and take numerous items, including his credit cards.
When the surfer returned home, he discovered someone was already using his credit cards.
Battery: Aug. 14, 4:32 p.m., 2400 Block of 15th Avenue
Officers responded to a fight in progress and discovered two combatants, one a pizza delivery man and the other the person who ordered the pizza.
Both men were cited and released.
Fire Response: Aug. 12, 1:35 a.m., 2600 Block of 44th Avenue
Fire fighters arrived at the scene and extinguished a flaming vehicle that was parked on the street.
The owner of the vehicle was notified and said when he parked the vehicle everything was fine.
Auto Burglary: Aug. 11, 4:30 p.m., 10th Avenue and Lincoln Way
A citizen called police to report a burglary in progress; someone way taking a bicycle from parked pick-up truck.
Officers discovered the man and demanded he stop. When the suspect got on the bicycle and tried to pedal away, fleet-footed officers caught and arrested him.
Investigative Detention: Aug. 11, 10:47 p.m., Stern Grove
Officers responding to a report of a bon fire in a park located several juveniles, who were drinking alcohol.
The juveniles were detained and released to the custody of their parents.
Armed Robbery, Warrant Arrest: Aug. 10, 5:02 p.m., 4100 Block of Noriega Street
The Taraval Station Investigative Team and plainclothes officers developed information concerning a recent armed robbery and went to a parolee's home to investigate.
Inside the home, officers discovered evidence linking the suspect to the earlier robbery.
The suspect was arrested.
Marijuana, Warrant Arrest: Aug. 10, 5:14 p.m., Funston Avenue and Irving Street
A report came in to dispatch concerning a man who was out on the streets for several days.
Officers contacted the man, who had two outstanding warrants and marijuana in his pocket.
The man was transported to the police station and booked.
False Personation: Aug. 8, 2100 Block of 30th Avenue
A man and woman filed a police report claiming someone had stolen their checks, forged their signatures, and cashed the checks.
Armed Robbery: Aug. 2, 12:04 a.m., 2200 Block of 18th Avenue
A man was walking down the street looking at his telephone when the suspect suddenly jumped out from behind some bushes and pointed a gun at him.
The victim turned over his phone and wallet before running away. The suspect escaped.
Possession of Air Gun, Drug Paraphernalia: Aug. 1, 4 p.m., 2500 Block of 16th Avenue
A concerned citizen called police to report two men trying to break into cars. When officers arrived at the scene, they detained two men, both of whom were on probation.
A search of the suspects turned up an air pistol in one suspect's waistband and a suspected "crack" pipe on the other suspect.
Because the witness could not positively identify the two as having commissioned a break-in crime, they were cited for their respective digressions and released.
Warrant Arrest: July 31, 9:13 a.m., 1300 Block of La Playa
An officer on patrol noticed a man standing on the side of the road drinking an alcoholic beverage. The man was detained and a computer search revealed he was wanted for an outstanding warrant. The suspect was arrested.
Theft by Trick: Between July 12 and July 17, 1000 Block of Irving Street
A man looking for travel agents searched Craigslist for information and then contacted an agent listed.
The man wired money for an airline ticket and was told everything was OK. When the man contacted the airline, he was told the reservation was cancelled.
The man has been unable to contact the agent since.
