Recklessly Avoiding a Police Officer: June 29, 1:36 p.m., 2200 Block of 14th Avenue
A Taraval police sergeant assisted a state parole agent in arresting a 30-year-old suspect who had an outstanding violent felony parole warrant.

When the officers arrived, they noticed the suspect sitting in a vehicle. After the suspect drove off, the officers tried to effect a traffic stop of the vehicle. The suspect sped up and ran the stop sign at 16th Avenue and Rivera Street and continued to run 35 more stop signs before hitting a parked car and driving off.

After driving through 10 more stop signs, the suspect pulled over. When the suspect showed his hands as if to surrender, the officers got out of their vehicle.

Suddenly; the suspect fled again, running another 10 stop signs before abandoning the chase.

At 14th Avenue and Ulloa Street the suspect pulled over and surrendered. A knife and suspected cocaine were discovered in the vehicle.

Residential Burglary: June 30, Between 7 a.m. and 11:12 a.m., 1000 Block of Kirkham Street
A man left a handmade rocking horse in the front entranceway of his home.

After some guests left, apparently leaving the gate open, the victim discovered the rocking horse was missing. A search of the area was to no avail.

Fraudulent Use of Credit Card: May 24, 6 p.m., 1100 Block of Taraval Street
A woman who used a credit card to purchase two cellular telephones had a mysterious charge applied to the card when her statement came in. A $39.10 charge was made to an online company to make some purchases. The purchases were sent to the address of the store where she had purchased the phones.

The woman went to file a report at the Taraval Station so she could find out from the store who made the purchase.

Shooting at Unoccupied House: May 21, 10 a.m., 2300 Block of 48th Avenue
A woman returned to her home after being out of town and discovered what appeared to be bullet holes in her garage door. Because there had previously been a shooting in the area, she contacted the police department's legal department about the discovery.

Attempted Residential Burglary, False Impersonation of Utility Employee: June 18, 11:30 a.m., 1000 Block of Pacheco Street
According to the witness, a man approached his house claiming to be a water department employee who needed to look for a potential leak.

When the witness refused to let the suspect enter his house, the suspect fled to a pickup truck, which was last seen driving southbound on Pacheco Street.

Opiates Offense, Warrant Arrest: June 30, 4:03 a.m., Great Highway and Kirkham Street
An officer in a marked police vehicle was traveling on the Great Highway when he observed the suspect make a U-turn in front of him and started speeding away. A traffic stop determined the suspect had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for cultivating marijuana for sale.

A further search of the 27-year-old suspect turned up suspected prescription drugs, which were hidden in the lining of his shoe.
