Parkside Library Gets OK to Rebuild, Expand
In a strange turn of events triggered by the city's budget crisis, the SF Library Commission agreed to do something it refused to do months ago - spend $500,000 of library bond funds to expand the Parkside Branch Library.

Complaints Pour In From Those Opposed to New Sava Pool Plans
Speakers at a public meeting concerning a plan to rebuild Sava Pool at 19th Avenue and Wawona Street were interrupted by several waves of emotional and critical outbursts from about five members of the audience, who opposed various aspects of the preliminary designs that were unveiled.

Sunset Branch Library Moves Toward Landmark Status
The proposal to designate the Sunset Branch Library as a historical landmark moved forward when the SF Planning Commission gave it the nod Jan. 15. Noted as "landmark number 239," the formal documentation the Planning Commission reviewed is a basic outline of the library's contribution to the local community.
